Data Rates Configuration in Juniper Mist
Data Rate Options
Setting the option for a data rate dictates what 802.11 amendment is used. Juniper Mist has three options applicable for data rates:
- The Basic/Mandatory option requires that a data rate be available for use.
- The Supported/Optional option makes a data rate available but doesn’t make it mandatory.
- The Disabled option turns off the data rate, making it unavailable for use.
Data Rate Configuration
Mist designates four data rate configurations:
- Compatible — This configuration enables all 802.11 connections.
- No Legacy — This configuration enables all 2.4-GHz connections except 802.11b (1, 2, 5.5, and 11 Mbps).
- High Density — In this configuration, anything that can’t connect at 24 Mbps (BSS basic rate) is disabled.
- Custom — Set your own accepted data rates with this option
