How to Configure Fabric In Box Configuration

Task

Fabric In a Box is used for smaller site, where the Edge is playing role of Control, Edge, and Border. Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series Switches have the capability to host fabric edge, control plane, border, and embedded wireless functionalities on a single switch.

Solution

Click  to Provision | Fabric | SanJose_Fabric. Select SFO11 from the Site list | Select the SFO11-C9300-Edge-01 switch.

Enable Border Node functionality. Enter configuration values. Enter a Local Autonomous Number: 65011

Select Transit_SDA under Transit/Peer Networks and click Add.

On the Fabric screen, toggle the indicators for both Edge Node and Control Plane. Click Add. The device will show with the letters C|B|E|W indicating it is configured as a Control, Border, Edge, and Wireless device in the fabric
