Data Rates Configuration in Juniper Mist

Data Rate Options

Setting the option for a data rate dictates what 802.11 amendment is used. Juniper Mist has three options applicable for data rates:

• The Basic/Mandatory option requires that a data rate be available for use.
• The Supported/Optional option makes a data rate available but doesn’t make it mandatory.
• The Disabled option turns off the data rate, making it unavailable for use.

Data Rate Configuration

Mist designates four data rate configurations:

• Compatible — This configuration enables all 802.11 connections.
• No Legacy — This configuration enables all 2.4-GHz connections except 802.11b (1, 2, 5.5, and 11 Mbps).
• High Density — In this configuration, anything that can’t connect at 24 Mbps (BSS basic rate) is disabled.
• Custom — Set your own accepted data rates with this option
